2010-2011 Calendar of EventsOver its 25 plus years the Library Foundation has hosted numerous fundraising events fashioned with the intention of raising the awareness of the Library system as well as securing much needed operating dollars for the organization. From the now famous “Literary Feast” dinners, the ground breaking “Copyright Texas” reading series, art installation celebrations (think Chihuly/Botero), the Foundation’s 25th Anniversary Gala Celebration where Academy Award winner Sissy Spacek read from a selection of the 1960 novel, “To Kill a Mockingbird” at the Central Library the Foundation works to offer enlightening but distinctive events to our supporters. Our goal is to bring unique literary “entertainment” to the citizens of San Antonio and beyond. As you look over the 2010-2011 calendar of events we invite you to contact us with any questions you may have. As you can see we are still working to stay “fresh and fun” as we plan future events. “The Foundation Review” NewsletterThe Library Foundation mails “The Foundation Review” to supporters contributing over $50 or more annually. Published twice a year the “Review” highlights past accomplishments made by the Foundation and the Library as well as promoting upcoming events, ground breakings, library branch openings, and other related news and achievements. Archives show that the first “Foundation Review” was published in 1989 and lists, then SAPLF Executive Director, Maria Cossio-Ameduri as Editor. Maria writes, “We intend for its (the “Review”) regular, periodic publication to inform you about the good things that continue to happen on behalf of the Library System.” Since that time the newsletter has gone from a black and white 3-fold piece to a brilliant 4-color over 20 page stabled publication. We hope you enjoy reading “The Foundation Review,” learning about library life and perhaps seeing yourself in one of the publications. 2011 Newsletters: 2010 Newsletters: |
